Day 59 - Speed Eating

I don’t slow down much, and meal times are no different. More often than not, when I go out to eat with friends, I’m the first one to finish. I don’t know when this started, but I do need to be more aware of how I eat during meal times.

According to Dr. Weil, speed eating does not signal feeling full and subsequently results in over eating. A Japanese study also delved into the chances of gaining more weight for those who eat their food quickly. Try taking more time to chew food thoroughly, enjoy each mouthful and put down your fork after each bite. Drink water either before or throughout the meal.

I did quite well today, or at least I think I did. I didn't write down what I ate, but got a lot of swimming in. This evening I did eat a few tortilla chips and I should know better, but I was tired from all the swimming and of course I immediately go for the bad stuff. Hopefully it won't make a negative impact on the scales.
